An Experience for
All the Senses
If you’re looking for something unique to do in Meteora, the Meteora Natural History and Mushroom Museum is a delightful surprise you shouldn’t miss. It’s located very close to the center of Kalabaka, with easy access and parking space, making it an ideal stop for families, food lovers, or anyone seeking an alternative experience — especially on days when the weather doesn’t allow for outdoor activities.
Inside the museum, you’ll discover an impressive collection of birds and mammals, along with the first fully organized mushroom museum in Greece. The exhibits are arranged in themed sections that vividly recreate the natural habitats of the animals, while the mushrooms are presented in a unique way, showcasing the different stages of their growth within each ecosystem. Everything is designed to make the visit enjoyable and engaging — even for young children. For international visitors, free guided tours via QR codes in English are available.
