Your adventure begins at Larissa Station in Athens, with the train departing at 07:58 AM. The ride through the Greek countryside is an experience in itself: ever-changing landscapes, charming villages, and glimpses of authentic rural life.
As you approach Meteora, the towering rocks begin to rise in the distance — and you know something extraordinary is coming.

You’ll arrive in Kalabaka around 12:15 PM, where our local guide will meet you to begin your tour. You’ll visit six historic monasteries, entering three of them, and explore viewpoints with panoramic vistas, hidden gems, and stories told by those who know the land by heart.

After the guided tour, around 5:00 PM, you’ll enjoy some free time in the town center — perfect for a coffee, a stroll, or simply taking in the view beneath the cliffs.

The train station is just a 5-minute walk from the drop-off point, and we’ll give you clear directions to reach it in time. Your return train departs at 17:57, bringing you back to Athens by 21:57, full of memories you won’t forget.

Frequently asked questions

The difference is that in the first seats of the train there is more comfort, peace and tranquility. Almost always, the first seats are arranged in bunk beds of 6 and are located in the first carriage next to the cafeteria.
You should be at least half an hour earlier, either at the Athens or Thessaloniki station, where you will have to follow the boarding procedure. You should have printed your tickets, we will have emailed them to you shortly after you complete your booking, because it is very likely that you will have a problem with the controller if you only show them in electronic form. Also, for those who have not upgraded their tickets to first class, you will need to find your seat, a process in which the train assistants will assist you.
Whether you board in Athens or in Thessaloniki you will not find one of us there. On the contrary, at Kalambaka station, our partner will be waiting for you holding a sign with the name of our company in the parking lot of the station
Travelling by train you will enjoy a comfortable and safe journey through the wonderful Greek countryside. Also on the train you can find a cafe where you can buy food or something to drink.
For those who want an even more comfortable and quieter journey as you board a six-seater coupe. If you select first class tickets via the additional button and there is no availability due to insufficient seats, we will book you tickets in economy class and once you arrive in Kalambaka we will refund you the price difference.
Our tours take place as usual, unless the weather conditions are extreme. In this case, you have the option to either change the date or change the activity or cancel and get a refund.

Your reservation can be made whenever you wish, even at the last minute. There is, however, the possibility that the maximum number of places has been filled.
Entering the monasteries requires a certain dress code. For women, it is forbidden to wear skirts above the knee, trousers, shorts, as well as sleeveless tops. For men, sleeveless tops and shorts above the knee are prohibited.
The Holy Monastery of Agios Stefanos is connected by an accessible bridge, making it the most easily accessible monastery. The Holy Monastery of Rousanos, the Holy Monastery of Varlaam and the Holy Monastery of Agios Nikolaos of Anapaus have approximately 140 steps. Finally, the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity and the Great Meteoron are the most difficult to reach monasteries, since their steps exceed 300.
All monasteries have an entrance fee of €5, per person. Children up to 12 years old do not pay a ticket to the monasteries. The monasteries have no entrance.
No, you will need to board yourself from the departure city using the tickets we have emailed you. Our team will be waiting for you at Kalambakas Railway Station, holding a sign with your name.
